Serve Your Community. Build Lifelong Skills. Make a Difference.

The Rogers Fire Department is a proud department serving the communities of Rogers, Corcoran, and Otsego. With 6 full-time staff, 45 paid-on-call firefighters, and two station locations, our team responds to more than 1,200 calls each year.

We Provide:

  • Fire suppression

  • Emergency medical services (EMS)

  • Hazardous materials response

  • Vehicle extrication

  • Ice and water rescue

Our firefighters are community members first. Most of our paid-on-call members work full-time careers in fields such as IT, finance, construction, military service, healthcare, and more — and respond when available to serve their neighbors.

If you’re looking for meaningful service, hands-on training, and the opportunity to be part of a tight-knit team, we invite you to apply.

What Is a Paid-On-Call Firefighter?

Paid-on-call firefighters are alerted to incidents via pager dispatch and respond to their assigned station when available. This model allows dedicated residents and professionals to serve their community while maintaining full-time careers.

It’s challenging. It’s rewarding. And it makes a real impact.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Be at least 18 years of age

  • Possess a high school diploma or GED

  • Hold a valid Minnesota Class D driver’s license

  • Live or work full-time (40 hours/week) within an 8-minute response time of a Rogers Fire Station (as determined by GPS/mapping software)

    • Applicants using their work address must provide a signed employer release

  • Successfully pass:

    • Physical agility testing

    • Health evaluation and pulmonary function test

    • Drug screening

    • Background and criminal history checks

Training & Professional Development

We invest in our firefighters. All required certifications and training are paid for by the department.

Within two years of hire, members must complete:

  • Firefighter I & II Certification

  • EMS Certification

  • Fire Apparatus Operator Training

  • Probationary Firefighter Mentorship Program

Department training is typically held on Tuesday evenings. The department offers a minimum of 24 training nights per year.
