This summer art program is designed to provide children with a creative, engaging, and structured environment to explore artistic expression.

Each session includes guided instruction, independent creativity, and collaborative sharing. You are welcome to sign up for whichever weeks you are interested in, or all four!

2026 Schedule & Dates

Two classes will be offered each week:

Tuesdays (Grades K–2) Thursdays (Grades 3-5)

Lions Central Park Sunroom [21400 Rouillard Ave, Rogers]

Daily Schedule

  • 10:00 – 10:15 AM: Drop-off, free time, and setup

  • 10:15 – 10:30 AM: Instruction, questions & answers, material gathering

  • 10:30 – 11:15 AM: Independent and group creative art work

  • 11:15 – 11:30 AM: Sharing, reflection, and clean-up

  • 11:30 AM: Pick-up

What to Bring

Each participant should bring:

  • Water bottle

  • Snack

  • Beach towel (for seating/work space)

  • Students may also bring their own art supplies or personal projects. The art teacher will be available to provide guidance and support as requested.

Weekly Themes

Week One: Nature All Around Us

  • Creative expression using sidewalk chalk

Week Two: The Science of Art

  • Exploring creativity through making slime

Week Three: Painting Our World

  • Watercolor landscape painting

Week Four: Going BIG!

  • Abstract acrylic painting using large brushes and paper

Program Goals

  • Foster a sense of community through shared artistic experiences

Cost

$10/child per week

You are welcome to register for all four weeks or pick and choose your favorites!

About the Art Teacher

Mrs. Patricia Schneider lives in Rogers with her husband. She teaches K-8 visual arts at Saint John Paul II Catholic School NE Mpls.

Mrs. Schneider believes in Teaching for Artistic Behavior (TAB) a student-centered, choice-based art education philosophy that treats learners

as artists and the classroom as a studio.
