Arthur Street Utility Extension

Background

Arthur Street is a 2-lane paved rural roadway with ditches from 129th Avenue to 333 feet south of Fawn Trail. There is a storm sewer within the Arthur Street right-of-way on the west side of the road between 13125 and 13225 Arthur Street. None of the homes are served by sanitary sewer or watermain and some are known to have failing septic systems. There is a public sanitary sewer and water main near the project area on 129th Avenue and Fawn Trail. There is underground power and cable along the west side of Arthur Street.

The proposed improvements include the installation of sanitary sewer on Arthur Street from 129th Avenue to 620 feet north of 129th Avenue and from Fawn Trail to 650 feet south of Fawn Trail. Watermain will also be installed from Fawn Trail to the Arthur Street cul-de-sac. These improvements are consistent with the City's Comprehensive Plan and the proposed project is feasible, necessary, and cost-effective from an engineering standpoint.
