PLANNING APPLICATIONS
A planning application is required for new developments, redevelopment, and alterations to properties within the City of Rogers. It is recommended that all potential applicants conduct a pre-application meeting with city staff. Applications are reviewed by the Planning Commission and City Council. Application Deadlines and Meeting Dates
The Rogers Planning Commission meets on the 1st Monday of the month. The City Council meets on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of the month. Applications are generally required by the 1st of the month to be on the following months agenda. The below link will provide submission deadline dates and meetings.
Submission Materials Required
Along with each application, additional materials must be submitted for the application to be deemed complete. The below link details baseline materials that must be submitted. Additional materials may be required based on the property characteristics or development plans.
Review Process
Generally, the total time from an application being submitted and deemed complete to a decision by City Council is approximately 45-to-60-days for most application types. Preliminary Plats may take up to 120-days. As applications are submitted, they are reviewed and commented on by city staff including community development, engineering, and fire. Additional jurisdictional review may be required through the Elm Creek Watershed District, Hennepin County, Department of Natural Resources, and/or Metropolitan Council.

Does the City of Rogers have standard engineering detail sheets which should be included on plans?
Yes, the City of Rogers Engineering Department has detail sheets which should be used on plans. Please contact city staff for them to be sent to you.
Are neighborhood meetings required before a land use applications goes before the Planning Commission and City Council for review?
No, the City of Rogers does not require neighborhood meetings. However, in instances where there may be conflicting uses adjacent, they may be recommended.
