Information Systems Intern
The City of Rogers is accepting applications for an intern for the City’s Information Systems (IS) Department. This role will assist IS with special projects, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of computer systems, mobile devices, and IS operational support. This is a 12-week paid internship with flexible start and end dates from May to August. The chosen candidate must be available for the entire time frame. Schedule is 40 hours per week with occasional work outside standard business hours. Employment offer will be contingent upon a successful criminal and driving history background check.

JOB SUMMARY
To assist the Information Systems Department (IS) with special projects, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of computer systems, mobile devices and IS operational support.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Set up and support hardware and software for City business, including workstations, printers, and mobile devices.
Assist IS staff with troubleshooting computers, mobile data computers, network issues, and software functions at various City buildings.
Assist IS staff in moving, installing, testing, maintaining, and inventory of the City's technology assets at various City buildings.
Manage, update, and replace city mobile devices.
Conduct project research, evaluations, recommendations, and implement solutions as directed.
Maintain and create documentation for users and IS staff.
Hosting Council and Planning Commission meetings in Microsoft Teams
Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Qualifications:
Ability to work cooperatively and establish good relations with co-workers, program users, and the public at large.
Effective customer service, organizational, and planning skills.
Must have a valid driver’s license with a driving record acceptable to the City.
Ability to communicate technical solutions to non-technical users.
Ability to prioritize work on multiple projects and strong communication and organizational skills.
Ability to meet the physical requirements of the position, including the ability to lift and handle up to 40 pounds of equipment.
Ability to pass criminal history background investigation.
Ability to obtain CJIS Security Awareness Level 4 Certificate within 2 weeks of hire.
Desirable Qualifications:
Entering junior year or higher in an undergraduate program or currently enrolled in a graduate degree program in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
Basic knowledge of hardware and software systems
Familiarity with Windows, Android, and iOS operating systems and Microsoft Office applications.
Customer service oriented, self-motivated, and takes direction.
Ability to communicate effectively, in written and oral form.
Attention to detail, able to find errors in work and solve problems.
Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
